- We (Christians) are to be servants.
- Christ's coming means there is an opportunity for God's kingdom to grow.
- There were two groups of Jews, those who spoke Hebrew and those who spoke Greek.
- The Hebrew poor were taken care of first when the church distributed to the needy.
- This could have split the church at that time.
- The Apostles said they do not have time to distribute food.
- Leaders must focus on just a few items or projects, Apostles must delegate to the deacons.
- The Apostles would concentrate time on prayer and study.
- Stephen, Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch
- The deacons would bring unity to the local church
- Challenges can be opportunities as we see in Acts 6:7
- The various callings are stated in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
